The real-life stories of surrogacy, motherhood, and everything in between.

A personal space to share the raw, beautiful and not so beautiful moments that don’t always get told.

The Truth Behind the Highlight Reel

Surrogacy is such a misunderstood topic.

There’s the version you see online , the glowing posts, the perfect bump pictures, the “you’re an angel” comments. The perfect moments. The highlight reel. There’s the dangerous rumors about how high risk the pregnancies will be. How unsafe surrogacies are. Then of course there’s the “surrogates only do it for the money” talks.

And then there’s the truth.

The truth is… it’s not always easy.
It’s early mornings and long appointments.
It’s months of injections, medications, and hormones that can make you feel like a completely different version of yourself (a crazy person version)
It’s your body changing on a timeline that isn’t always your own.
It’s learning how to function when you don’t feel 100%, but still showing up anyway.

The truth is… it requires advocacy.
For your body.
For your boundaries.
For your voice.

Because not every agency operates the same (they actually all are more different than you’d expect)
Not every experience is ethical, transparent, or supportive.
And sometimes, you don’t realize that until you’re already in it.

The truth is… it’s a lot!
Relationships with intended parents can be beautiful. But they can also be distant, mismatched, or not what you expected.
Working with people in different countries, different time zones, different expectations and it adds layers that no one really prepares you for.

The truth is… it’s emotional in ways people don’t fully understand.
You’re carrying a baby you will love, protect, and bond with every single day.
You feel every kick. Every movement. Every milestone along the way.
And at the same time, you’re preparing your heart to say goodbye.

That doesn’t make you detached.
It doesn’t make you cold.
It makes you incredibly aware of the experience.

The truth is… not every story gets shared.
The uncomfortable moments.
The times you felt unsupported.
The situations where something didn’t sit right.
The moments you had to stand up for yourself, even when it felt hard.

But here’s the other side of the truth

It’s powerful.

It’s walking into something fully aware that it will challenge you and choosing it anyway.
It’s helping create a family that otherwise wouldn’t exist.
It’s witnessing a moment that changes someone else’s entire life forever.

It’s growth.
It’s learning boundaries.
It’s learning how to trust yourself.
It’s realizing how strong you actually are.

Being a surrogate isn’t easy.
It isn’t about being “selfless” in the way people romanticize it.

It’s about being informed.
It’s about being intentional.
It’s about understanding both the beauty and the reality, and still choosing to walk that path.

So if all you’re seeing is the instagram versions…
Just know there’s so much more behind it.

And both the beautiful parts and the hard parts?
They all deserve to be told.
